Primary Caregiver Responsibilities 

• Companionship & conversation
• Light Housekeeping
• Household management
• Errands
• Apparel selection (i.e. laying out clothes)
• Meal planning & preparation
• Laundry & linen changing
• Medication reminders
• Transportation using client’s vehicle In sleep-over or live in situations 

• Prepare sleeping area at night Primary Caregiver Qualifications 

• Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
• Ability to drive or use public transportation to get to work
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations

Caregiver Eligibility Requirements

1. Valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations
2. Social Security Card
3. Pass a criminal background check prior to employment. No more than two misdemeanor’s or one felony. Charges should not include: Any type of abuse, neglect, or assault. Independence Care will run their background check.
4. Finger Print Clearance: ONLY IN FL AND IL – Applicants in FL and IL need to get FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
5. Tuberculosis Testing.

o Florida only Requires a one-step TB Test.

o PA and NH Require a Two Step Tuberculosis Test.
